Valerie began her yoga practice, like many, looking to decrease stress, reduce pain, and regain flexibility. She is ever grateful that her first teacher was Iyengar trained and an intuitive healer, introducing her to the balance of mind, body, and breath. Valerie completed her 200 hour teacher training with Kirk Hartwig in 2013 to deepen her own practice and fell in love with sharing the practice of yoga with others. She became a certified Judith Hanson Lasater Relax and Renew restorative yoga teacher in 2016 and has studied yoga therapeutics with Amy Ippoliti, alignment based yoga with Maty Ezraty and Tias Little. Valerie has taught Yin and restorative yoga to triathletes and teaches mindfulness and pranayama practices to healthcare providers. What brings her joy is hearing the breath deepen and seeing softness return to students faces.
