Judy, originally from Washington State, began her journey with fitness when she attended her first yoga class and began lifting weights seriously as an undergrad at ASU. During college, Judy also spent 6 years in the Air Force National Guard. As a result of injuries, the stress of college and the military, yoga & fitness became a means to rehab her body and her mind.
Over the years, Judy has discovered the many therapeutic benefits of yoga in her life, which guided her to enroll in a Yoga Assisting certification program. Eventually, Judy shifted from weightlifting to barre classes and decided to become certified thru Balanced Body Barre Certification Program.
Judy enjoyed teaching so much that it was a natural progression to continue her education and completed a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certification, a Yoga Sculpt Certification and a Yin Yoga Certification.
In addition to teaching barre and yoga sculpt here at Studio Lotus, she also teaches in the corporate environment, focusing on breathing, stress relief and gentle yoga, as well as beginning and advanced yoga and yoga sculpt at other studios. As a result, yoga and barre have become a major part of her mind/body wellness program; which she looks forward to sharing these benefits with others. When not teaching, or playing with her 3 dogs and cat; Judy enjoys spending her free time with her amazing husband, son and daughter.
